Grow! Or at least KEEP the blessed thing. He looked like a youthful boy-band member before he sported his beard. Agree with his looking older; bring it! I didn't think I liked beards (growing up in the 70s with all those mens fashionable facial hair has left its mark) but I see where you're coming from now - it means something different nowadays and some should definitely grow! :)
